Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Williams Route 66 Quarter Marathon on Saturday, Oct. 15. A special congrats goes out to our Pathways training program participants who sweated their way through 12 hot weeks of training to accomplish this goal and the Rogers Country No Boundaries group who participated in the 5K.
Starting and finishing in the Blue Dome District, race-day events included the 6.55 mile quarter marathon, a 5K and a one-mile fun run. Additionally, 400 participants also chose to run “The Double,” running in both the quarter marathon and the 5K in the same morning.
The male and female winners swept all quarter marathon events this year, which has not happened in the Williams Route 66 Quarter Marathon in the past. Caleb Clark from Bartlesville crossed the finish line first for the 5K race in 16:59. Clark also won the quarter marathon with a time of 36:56. His finish time for “The Double” was 53:55.
The female winner, with a 5K time of 21:17, was Donna Smith of Tulsa. She was the first female to cross the finish line in the quarter marathon and “The Double,” with times of 46:27 and 1:07:48 respectively.
