THE FIRECRACKER IS MOVING TO DOWNTOWN TULSA!

New stroller category for this year's race --

The Stroller 5k Roll event is for those runners and walkers wishing to participate while pushing a baby jogger or baby stroller.  This event will start separately from the 5k race, at 7:40am.  (NOTE: this is NOT a race and though each participant will be timed, it should not be considered as a competitive event.  Racing with baby joggers will not be tolerated for the safety and enjoyment of all, especially the children.  Please do not enter the Stroller 5k Roll with the intent of anything other than a relaxing 3.1 mile walk or jog.

Fleet Feet teams with troops in Afghanistan!

Fleet Feet teams with troops in Afghanistan for Firecracker 5km:  Fleet Feet Tulsa is proud to announce a partnership with our brave troops serving our country in Afghanistan.  In conjunction with our July 3, 2010 Firecracker 5km race in Tulsa, Army Battalion 5-158th operating out of Forward Operating Base Shindand in Western Afghanistan will conduct their own Firecracker 5km run on July 4, 2010.   Fleet Feet Tulsa has shipped race shirts, numbers, and other supplies to Afghanistan in support of the race overseas. 

 
In addition to supporting our troops in Afghanistan, Fleet Feet Tulsa will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the event to Folds of Honor, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission to empower deserving military families with educational support and opportunities.  Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members disabled or killed as a result of their military service to our Great Nation.  More on Folds of Honor: http://www.patriotgolfclub.com/cause.php
 
High School and Middle School cross country athletes can run the Firecracker 5 for free!  Any local high school or middle school cross country runner can enter and run the Firecracker 5 on July 3 for Free - $5 if a t-shirt is desired.  Runners must register – pre-registration at Fleet Feet Tulsa will begin on June 26, 2010.
