In a state ranked No. 46 by Forbes for overall healthfulness, Tim and Lori Dreiling are working to reverse the trend.
After the Memorial High School and University of Tulsa graduates, married for 23 years, sold what is now Oklahoma Sports & Fitness magazine about 10 years ago, they opened a Fleet Feet Sports franchise in KingsPointe Village shopping center.
“Neither of us have any background in retail whatsoever,” Tim said. “I never worked in retail, not one day in my life, until I opened this store.”
He was an engineer, and she was an information technologist.
Rather, the undertaking was inspired by their resolve to get Tulsans on their feet.
“We moved around a lot in our 20s — Houston, Los Angeles, Denver — and saw some really active communities,” Lori said.
