Important 2008 Changes

For 2008, the bike and run courses have been changed to bring the event back to Tulsa. The swim will be contested at Skiatook Lake north of Tulsa near Skiatook Point.

Three waves will start: men, women, and relay teams. The first transition area will be at Lake Skiatook. The bike course will travel from Skiatook Lake back to Tulsa's RiverParks on the west bank of the Arkansas River. The second transition area will be at RiverParks Festival West Park. The run portion of the race will be held on RiverParks west bank trails.

Distances: swim 1500m, bike 40km, run 10km (Olympic Distances).

Pre-Race Meeting

Meeting:
All participants must attend the pre-race meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the Lake Skiatook Point boat ramp the morning of the race. Race rules and regulations will be given at that time.

Start Time:
First wave starts at 8:00 am.

Teams:
Teams may consist of 2 or 3 members. Relay format will be held. Teams will start in a separate wave.

New for 2008

Don't like to swim - let us swim for you!

New for 2008, just bring your bike and running shoes and compete in the Land Lover division.

We will have a designated swimmer for your division and once our swimmer leaves the water your race begins from transition area 1.

Your designated swimmer will start with the relay teams.

USAT Sanctioned Event

USA Triathlon:
This is to be a sanctioned USA Triathlon event. If you are not a member, you must purchase a one day single event permit for $10.00. Current members must present a USA Triathlon membership card. USA Triathlon rules apply. For more details visit http://www.usatriathlon.org.

Timing:
Timing will be done with chip timing. There will be splits for each of the three events and the two transitions. Chip timing is conducted by Fleet Feet Timing Tulsa.

Awards

Overall Awards:
Age grouper money for top finishers - $300 total. Gift certificates top swim, bike and run splits and fastest cumulative transition times.

Awards:
Awards are given for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for the following male & female age groups.

Age Divisions:
16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-over.

Top 3 teams in each team division - male, female, and mixed.

Top 3 Land Lover finishers receive awards - male and female.

Finisher medal for all participants.

Awards ceremony will follow the race along with food, music and race results.
